TMDA requires that the remote SMTP server inserts a Return-Path:
header, as per the SMTP standard, RFC 821
(http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc0821.txt pp. 21/22), and clarified in
RFC 2821 (http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2821.txt), section 4.4, Trace
Information. Unfortunately, not all SMTP servers do this.

Does IMail perhaps set a $SENDER variable in the environment? If so, it would be possible to have procmail (running on the IMail server) prepend a Return-Path field to the message before delivery.

IMail is on a remote Windows server, and we are using getmail to retrieve messages via POP accounts before we pass them through TMDA. IMail doesn't include the envelope sender in any way.
