Thanks to Jim Ramsay, that patch you sent to the list worked. Before I tried the script I tried setting the variable $USER but it made no difference. The patch worked fine.

Good to hear, the fix is in CVS now.

I also had a problem when going into tmda-cgi as it did not like the ~ in ~/.tmda/config as that was what I had told tmda-cgi where user configs were. I simply recompiled leaving that option None and it worked fine.

This is now fixed in CVS also, I think. Same problem (Checking for USER, and not LOGNAME, now check for either) in different places. This will be in 0.13 when it comes out. Probably soon :) You may yet run into other problems, because of this, but then again, it may be okay.

If you need these changes before 0.13 comes out (soon, I promise... just don't ask me to tell you when "soon" is), I can send you patches, or you can try using the CVS version in a day or so when Sourceforge's public CVS catches up with the main repository.

Also can I just comment on what a great feature having the ability to disable users from editing there config files through tmda-cgi is. The great advantage of tmda-cgi for us is allowing users (particularly users that don't know how to use unix) the ability to control there pending queue and maintain there various lists. Being able to stop them from messing up the config is a big plus.

Glad to hear it! I don't actually run an instalation with multiple users (just lil' old me), so it's nice to hear that this stuff is also useful where there are multiple non-guru users.
