Well, although php was sending directly to sendmail, the mail was getting stuck in the pending que! Obviously being sent from a web page, there was nowhere for TMDA to send the confimation message to. So everything was setup and working properly already.
I released the mail with tmda-pending. Here are the headers I found in the incoming log. Date: Thu Jul 26 21:57:44 BST 2007 Sndr: [EMAIL PROTECTED] From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Rept: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subj: php mail function tester Actn: CONFIRM pending 1185483464.24065.msg (536) All I want to do is send a mail locally, to let me know when someone lands on my site(s) homepages. Saves me having to look in the apache logs then. IIRC, that's how Rasmus started with php in the beginning?
