Oops. I tagged your original message but forgot to reply. It's a good heuristic, I think. If the TMDA user has bothered to set up the appropriate directory structure, it probably implies they know their potential audience and in most cases it will work out exactly right. An interesting thing that occurred to me along this line was someone's comment (I forget who) that some individuals freak if they get English. I'm not exactly sure how to wire it in, but something in the filter that could catch their mail specifically and set a charset or a template to be used for the confirm or bounce would be useful.
