Hello all.
I'm taking a stab at making some updates to the
tmda.spec file to make installation on a redhat system more brainless. I
intend to:
1) break the packages into
subpackages:
tmda-0.xx-y.src.rpm
creates:
tmda-0.xx-y.noarch.rpm
tmda-ofmipd-0.xx-y.noarch.rpm
tmda-emacs-0.xx-y.noarch.rpm
tmda-cgi-0.xx-y.noarch.rpm
2) tmda-ofmipd-0.xx-y.noarch.rpm performs a
system wide installation, creates the ofmipd user/group, installs an init file
and sysconfig file (maybe have the sysconfig installation search for
authentication sources, ie. pop3, imap, etc), automatically starts daemon on
installation
3) tmda-emacs-0.xx-y.noarch.rpm installs
tmda.el file
4) tmda-cgi-0.xx-y.noarch.rpm installs cgi
portions, installs include file configuration of web directory (currently only
for apache 2.0), and restarts httpd daemon to activate changes
5) for tmda-0.xx-y.noarch.rpm, add some contrib
files to the installation (ie. printcdb, printdbm).
I *do* have some questions...
1) For the installation of tmda.el, how is
this normally installed? My inclination is to copy it into the
/usr/lib/emacs/site-lisp directory. I don't use emacs so I don't know if
this would work or not. Can someone who uses this extensively on redhat
give me a ring and let me know how it should get
installed?
