Yeah that was a curse for not having something to use and a blessing since I wasn't restricted in the process. > I've thought for some > time about issuing a ``TMDA logo contest'' to try and get get > some submissions. If you want to use the layout or logo I've created on tmda.net, just let me know. > There have to be some graphic artists out there. I'm not so sure about that. Every open source project I can think of has a butt-ugly logo if they have one at all. Tux is ugly. FreeBSD's daemon is ugly. Gnome's foot is ugly. Gnu's namesake is creepy. SuSE's chameleon is eerie. RedHat has a good logo, but they're a real corporation so I would guess they can afford to hire an artist. KDE's gear is okay... That's why I had to hire an artist for my last open source website (http://djbdns.wolfhome.com). My thinking is that open source programmers are making enough in their day jobs to spend their spare time in a generous fashion. Artists are generally starving and don't have the luxury to get into such acts of charity. I know that's true of my three artist roommates. > Once TMDA has a logo, it would probably make sense to base your layout > on that? <grins> Then whomever makes the logo should feel free to re-do the webpage! They would be bound to make it nicer than an engineer like me could. > I'm not too crazy about the brown color scheme. If you (or anyone) hits a preferrable combination, just mail it back to me and I can re-export. Hell, I can set up CGI_SCHEME='brown' in Defaults.py if someone wants to crank out a variety! That would be SWEET! Any takers? Gre7g. _________________________________________________ tmda-workers mailing list ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) http://tmda.net/lists/listinfo/tmda-workers
