What's the relationship between --summary and --terse-summary? Are
they completely separate options, or must you set --summary in
addition to --terse-summary for --terse-summary to work? If not,
what's the desired behavior if you set both?

I've found what's causing my problem, not sure if it's the 'pass'
problem you saw yet, but before I fix it, I want to make sure I'm not
breaking something new.
