Sorry. I read the tmda lists as a newsgroup (through Gmane) using slrn, which doesn't support MIME attachments yet. I wrote a script to postprocess my news messages and add attachments if directed, and it looks like the output is RFC compliant to me.
I'm guessing it's because the content-disposition is set to "inline" instead of "attachment". Mozilla and Outlook Express both grok it...
