I found that if I start tmda-ofmipd as a daemon (-b option) from an SSH
session, then try to exit the SSH session, the SSH client will hang
because tmda-ofmipd isn't correctly daemonized.

I found this reference:

http://www.enderunix.org/docs/eng/daemon.php

...which states that os.setsid() or os.setpgrp() should be used as part
of fully daemonizing a process. Does anyone know what the rules are for
which one should be used (or both?). Perhaps this depends on the OS
flavor; BSD v.s. SYSV v.s. Linux?

Any pointers appreciated.
