In Calgary we have something called 'Chinooks'. This happens when the warm
Pacific air comes over the Rocky Mountains. It tops the mountains and we
can look to the West when this is happening and see a 'Chinook Arch'. There
will be a bank of clouds above and a perfect arch across the Western sky.
With these 'Chinooks' we get very fast drops in the barometric pressure.
Many Calgarians suffer from 'migraine' headaches and I am one of them. Mine
can be brought on by the 'Chinooks'. Dizziness is also part of this whole
thing. I also notice a difference in pain when the Chinooks are coming. I
do not get the migraines every time but the dizziness and feelings of
extreme fatigue happen the most.
