Linda, For me it starts with the numbness, more numb than can be imagined; Then the paresthesias ( pins and needles) on top; and then sharp cutting pain like shards of glass piercing my flesh. Feeling that the muscles are being pulled from my bones. Along with the rest is the exquisite sensitivity to hot and cold, and unable to keep my hands, feet, arms, legs, left body at temperature- first too cold then too hot. Then there is the allodynia where even the sheets- let alone the pleasure of holding hands or petting my dog- causes increasing pain, building and building till I'm driven insane by the pain. Cannabinioids work well to keep it all to a minimum, but even then there is still unrelenting discomfort. Good Luck F
