Karen, Many TM patients will have a slow increase of the central pain with time. I dont know the %. Dr. Kerr at Johns Hopkins who is the "Guru of TM" explained that sort of like having a stone thrown on to the perfect auto hood- just a little ding you can just see it, so you do nothing but two years later you have a big rust spot. The breaking of the paint leads to water getting in, then rust forming, then lifting the surrounding paint, letting water in, rust, etc.
There is one injury in TM but the affects continue for years. That's why you start Physio and keep at it four year after year, so you don't get worse. hope that helps. Have you thought of being evaluated by Dr. Kerr and his team at th TM center at J.H. in Baltimore?? I grew up in Upper Darby, where do you live? Good Luck Frank
