I did receive a flu shot on Oct. 31, 2002.....(had gotten them for years)..in fact my husband got one along with me, at the same time,by our PCP..
14 days later, (Nov 13 2002)...I woke up with my feet asleep, and a couple hours later, I was paralyzed from my waist down.
First diagnosed at Guillain Barre....
I had been under a great deal of stress, but otherwise felt fine, had a terrible back ache 2 days prior to losing feeling...
3 questions the doctors (all gazillion of them) asked me and all in the same order with all the same response...
1. Have you been sick? No
2. Have you been around anyone that was sick? No
3. Did you get a flu shot? yes
Then they all looked up from writing and said "when"?
