Jude,
My Mom and my sister both have a
device that they wear (or should) around their neck like a necklace. My
Mom (82) has heart and diabetes problems and mobility problems, my sister has
MS. It is a 'Lifeline' or some such name. When the button is pushed
it will summon your nearest help which could be a family member, neighbour etc
and I think it also notifies 9-1-1. It is centrally registered and when it
is pushed these people are notified. I hope I am right about how this
works but you get the idea. You don't need the cell phone then if you
are in bed.
I'm so sorry that this has happened
to you. It must have been extremely frightening for you as you
are still in those casts on both your legs. You really have been
through the wringer and now this.
Thankfully your husband was home. I
will e-mail my sister today and find out just what the device is actually
called.
