Hallo guys
pardon me ... butting in like this ....
I am Susan Lezar and had collapsed on the 18:04:2004 to be 100% paralysed
waist down, diagnosed with TM.
I left the wheelchair in February 2005 and literally fell into the gym. At
that stage I could hardly stand holding on to a walker. A dear friend assist
me in the gym. But - once I was there, I literally dragged myself from
equipment to equipment.
Now I am training as much as I can. The main contributor to helping me is
doing weight bearing exercises .
In September 2005 I was introduced to the Power Plate Machine. My medical
aid covers the 2 sessions I have a week. Since Sept I have been training on
this equipment every week.
On my off days I train other body parts in the gym and try and swim least
once a week.
If you have not heard of this watch the website www.power-plate.com.
Today I am walking unaided (almost running), drive my car and do almost
everything else a mom with a 10 year old daughter should do. "And off course
bundles and bundles of prayers and hope in the Lord. He does have a purpose
for me."
I recently started a blog requesting for TM patients to write to me. I would
sincerely like to help and share good words of encouragement. So feel
welcome if you would like to write to me.
I do find it interesting you talk about Neurontin. I have severe
pins-and-needles (only way I can explain it) in my feet.
It has been like this since I collapsed. I have had short spells where it
went away completely ..... only to return.
I believe this WILL go away sometime.
God bless to you all
SUSAN LEZAR, Natal, South Africa

Ann,
The Lyrica helps a little, but I started to have strange feeling like when
I was on Neurontin, years ago, then I discovered it was related to
Neurontin.
i will finish the samples to see if the grogginess goes away.
I think the pain will level off, and after stem cell therapy will slowly
go away completely.
think positively my dear
