Hello everybody -- I hope you are all doing well
today.
My friend has been back in the hospital in Montreal
for
almost 2 weeks now. Her pain in her back is unbearable,
she describes it as fire. She says that they have
tried everything, but most meds they tried did nothing at
all, and the ones that do work a bit only last for an hour or so, and then she
has to wait and wait for another dose. I just spoke to her and she said
that sitting in the wheelchair for hours is torture, and yet they are so
busy there nobody can find time to put her into bed. She has been crying and
begging to go to bed for over 3 hours now. She cannot move at all to even
reposition herself in the chair. Laying in bed also causes great pain after
a while, because she can't move at all, and staying in the same position for
hours is unbearable. I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY CAN'T FIND SOME PAIN RELIEF FOR
HER!! This is criminal! Have any of you been in this
situation, or perhaps you know someone who has been? What can be
done?? She has had TM for only a little over a year -- and has become
totally disabled in that time. At the beginning of last year she was just fine
except for some itching under her skin. Do any of you know some
secret special drug or procedure that might help her? She could live a
good life in the wheelchair if only something could be done about the horrible
pain. If you have any hope at all, please let me know & I will pass it
along to her.
