I take baclofen and zanaflex.  It has even gotten so bad that I have to take valium.  I just recently had a flap surgery to fix a deep pressure sore so I am hoping when I heal, I can start to come off of some of the meds because the littliest things trigger spasms. I am paraplegic because of ADEM.  Some lovely damage left of my cord from the disease.  Anyhow I am going to have a baclofen pump put in but I must wait 4 or 5 months.  If they are that bad that you are required to take many meds then I would suggest it because the meds go directly to your spinal cord.  You don’t suffer from the side effects.  Baclofen can make you drowsy, the valium as well for me.  Baclofen can also affect your liver if you take enough for a long enough time.  This is just me though.  I have a bit more damage than a lot of you.  ADEM is related to TMIC.  Not sure how much but my doctor says so.  I suppose the way the disease effects the spinal cord.  Jim Lubin, God love him, is a vent dependent quad because of the TMIC.

Sorry for the rambling.  I hope it helped.
