Hi Jude,

I haven't posted in forever. I've been busy busy but it's not like I posted
that much in the first place. I had ADEM which is gone so I'm told but there
is damage left over on my spine which has resulted in paralysis and loss of
sensation, however, I manage to stay in pain (neuropathy) and major spasticity.

No one that I knew before I got sick understands it, let alone me but I'm just
as happy to be alive.

Stacy

  Subject: [TMIC] Paralysis vs Sensation

I know that I shouldn't write to the list without first doing some research,
but I simply am not well enough in spite of my new chair and all of the recent
Blessings bestowed upon my life.

I guess that's why certain diseases are called syndromes. Sometimes symptoms
vary within the confines of a "diagnosis" and the medical community is not far
enough along to put all the symptoms in the proper boxes. Once they get it all
sorted out...there will be a cure.

I was told recently, by the Neurologist I saw, that the correct description
of Paralysis is, "The inability to lift one's limbs against gravity."

Now, some of us are both paralysed and desensitised and some of us are one or
the other. Symptoms vary all over the place and I wonder how often they truly
match between two patients?

There are some very well read and experienced people on the List who might be
able to set us "newbies" to rights. If only they would come out and play...we
might have a better picture of TM.

  I love you all,
  Jude
