Rick

I left medicine 15 months before TM "struck me down." I was writing for
women's magazines in August 2000 when TM hit me.

I was started on Marinol in August 2001, by Dr. Kerr. Marinol worked well, but
I would get euphoria for 1 hr. in the middle of the 6 hours of effective pain
control. I tried organic cannabis- Maine is a Med. Marijuane state- but that
had to be smoked every 2 to 3 hours, and was illegal in other states. I now
use SATIVEX which is a prescription medication I get from my Pain Doctor in
Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Sativex is not available in the U.S. As a
prescription medication, it is legal- so say my ACLU lawyers- both in Canada
and the US, and around the world. Sativex lasts for 8 hrs., has no peak in the
middle, but costs $640 canadian dollars for 204 doses. It is packaged if a
sprayer and delivered by spraying the dose under your tongue. One spray is all
that I need. It starts to work within half an hour.

I hope you don't mind me cc:ing the tmic
