Holding your breath and gritting your teeth during sex isn't sexy is it?
I also have Brown Sequad Syndrome and was furious the first time I read it in
the neuro's report to my PCP. I thought he was changing my TM Diagnosis to
something else until I Googled and learned it was yet another symptom that I
was experiencing. TM 3 1/2 yrs C4-C6

 Patti,

Exactly!

The demyelination and scarring cause seconday problems in the surrounding
spinal cord, these then lead to problems in the lower brain and brain stem,
these secondary changes led to limbic (?sp) changes and subcortical changes.

For the first three months after my TM affliction, I had little pain. The pain
started slowly to increase untill at 13 months I had Brown Sequard Syndrome
(Google for explanation) diagnosed. The pain continues to increase, slowly but
definitely.

My sexual functioning- ability to have and sustain an erection, and ability to
ejaculate- were normal for the first four years, then slowly deteriorated.
Severe allodynia didn't help my love life- My penis hurts when stimulate.

Chronic pain wears me down, perhaps leading to Chronic fatigue. This started
in 2005, 4 1/2 years after the affliction in Aug. 2000.

Lack of exercise, secondary to all of the above diagnoses, led to the metabolic
syndrome (early diabetes, obesity, hypertension, hyperlipidemia) diagnosed 6
months ago, 5 years post affliction.

I hope this is helfull in explaining what's happening to you.
