Hi Kevin,

I can understand your frustration with this, but I think it all depends upon
how long it's been since you've been seen and the doctor's personal
philosophy regarding refills. New patients are a different story, there's a
liability there. He may not agree with what has been prescribed. I can see
both
sides.

I want to tell you the flip side of this equation though, which is quite a
different story. My mother always told us that she was seeing her doctors as
required. However, when she passed away in her sleep, we found that it was a
different story.

The paramedics had to be called since she passed at home. They called her
doctor's name listed on her prescriptions, and he told them that he had not
seen her in over two years. My mother was on medication for a heart
condition,
as well taking anti-depressants and Coumadin for blood thinning. She was
not being monitored at all for any of these, it was absurd and should be
illegal the way he continued to refill her prescriptions. I don't know how
she
conned him into doing it, but I now know why she loved him. She thought he
was
a great doctor.

We are going to pursue the issue as he can continue to do this to other
patients. It's not right.
