My Dear Natalie, May I ask why you did not opt for the "ostomy" since you say it is an easier surgery and has fewer problems afterwards? Is it because your insurance will not pay for it? I am asking because I am extremely interested in having the procedure myself, and if you will allow it...will "pick your brain" once you have recovered. I have IVs put in my feet all of the time because I also have bad veins and will no longer tolerate being poked and prodded until I am in tears. You do have the option of demanding that they use your feet, although there is a higher risk of blood clots. I'd rather take the risk...but plenty of people think that I'm nuts...cashews, mmmmmm.
