Kevin,
I know it is difficult to not get emotional when speaking of your pain, but I
have found if I don't break down with telling them, then they don't 2nd guess
as if it is something else. Use to in the beginning, they always said "are you
and your husband having difficult times?" I would reply "this has nothing to
do w/ my husband", "I am in moderate to severe pain and my meds. don't control
it." What state do you live in, may I ask? Natalie M.

Regina,
Very good question! I wish I knew.
The last neurologist said I was on too many meds. I disagree. I'm on two
BP meds, xanax, and an 81mg aspirin a day. I saw a program recently,
discussing how few doctors know how to treat pain. Also, some have a
fear of being checked by the state medical board. But the doctor who
diagnosed me years ago wouldn't even let me try Neurontin when i asked him
about it.
The xanax was originally prescribed to help me sleep, and it did for
awhile. The sleep helped with the pain a little. But it doesn't work
well anymore.
I am seeing a new neurologist. I will be asking him.
Kevin
