 *My TM was caused by relapsing Devics, so I cannot take a chance on the flu
or pneumonia shots.  I've had two huge cord hits, and three episodes of
partial blindness in two and a half years, both caused by my immune system
and the NMO autoimmune antibody that I carry.  Eventually, despite
medications, I will relapse again, and the hope is to minimize the damage of
the next acute attack.  I'm just not brave enough to take the risk.*
