Not necessarily. I have to ask and usually say that I want the head and neck. Its one of those border areas so some of the stem may be included but not all of it and not the top of the cord. I think its best to get the whole brain and C spine myself. If you have a history of damage there or if your symptoms seem to indicate that your damage is there then its best to do the whole shebang. Otherwise, like me in 1998 you wind up going in for three MRIs in a row just to get the right section. No sense or cents in that....that was a health care cost pun dontcha know. Ha I know, Ha.
