*Rick,* ** *The most mportant thing that you can do right now, is to just take it easy and stay in bed BUT you have to be extremely careful of pressure sores developing. Have your wife pick up a lamb's wool underpad for your skin to make contact with. You can find them in all different sizes. Also, make sure to alternate pressure points. A good product that is used in a lot of nursing homes and private care facilities, is *Bag Balm*. It's fantastic for the skin and can be found in almost any drugstore. At the very first sign of ANY pinkness, or redness of the skin, switch positions and make sure to apply the Bag Palm. I routinely used that on the young woman that I helped to take care of, and the only pressure sore that she ever developed was due to a botched skin flap surgery. Whenever I was first diagnosed, I was extremely small and bony. Because I couldn't really get around, most of the days after I first came home, were spent sitting in the same spot that my daughter parked me. I started to get two, where my butt bones were in the back, and had a devil of a time getting them cleared up. (Should have been using the pressure pads and Bag Balm from the get go---but was too stubborn.) You absolutely have to protect the skin's integrity.* ** *Love,* *Grace *
