ANYONE WHO COMES TO NEW ORLEANS GOES TO CAFE DUMOND TO GET THEM AND A UNIQUE
COFFEE.
IT HAS BEEN THERE SINCE 1862. THEY ARE OPEN 24 HOURS A DAY. I AM NOT A SWEET
EATER NOR DO I DRINK COFFE EXCEPT FROM THERE. IT IS CALLED CAFE AU LAIT.
THE COFFE IS MADE WITH A SPECIAL BLEND OF COFFEE AND CHICORY MIXED HALF AND
HALF WITH HOT MILK.
BEIGNETS ARE PUFFY SQUARE FRENCH DOUGHNUTS, SERVED HOT IN ORDERS OF 3 TO A
PLATE, COVERED WITH POWERED SUGAR.
YOU CAN BUY THE KIT TO MAKE IT AND WE DID THIS MORNING, OH HOW WONDERFUL.
THE COFFE FROM THE ENDIVE PLANT ROASTED AND GROUND, SMOOTHS THE BITTER EDGE
OF THE DARK ROASTED COFFEE LEAVING A SLIGHT TASTE OF CHOCOLATE.THAT IS THE
ONLY COFFEE I WLL DRINK. THEY HAVE MANY NOW IN THE SUBBERDS. WHICH IS GOOD YOU
DO NOT HAVE TO GO TO THE FRENCH QUARTER. WE HAVE ONE CLOSE TO US BUT WE LIKE

KATRINA TOOK A TOLL ON US BUT ALL THE HOTELS , RESTAURANTS AND NEW THINGS
HAVE OPENED AS WELL AS THE ONES THAT WHERE DAMAGED. THE AQUARIUM , THE ZOO JUST
TO MUCH TO TELL.
