Ok, now I have a question. In the link that Gerry provided us (Thanks Gerry) I found the following: "It is also suggested in the medical literature that patients with "complete" transverse myelitis (which means severe leg paralysis and sensory loss) are less likely to develop MS than those who had a partial or less severe case." Has anyone on here experienced this? In case some of you don't remember, my daughter who is now 14 was hit with TM when she was 11. She basically had paralysis from her thighs down but also lost her bowel and bladder function. Three years later (and a lot of hard work) she is walking with forearm crutches and braces on her legs. I have always thought of her case as a less severe case because she was not hit like a lot of others with loss from her chest down or even full paralysis and according to what I am reading it seems like she is more likely to get MS than those that had a severe case of TM. When Ashlee first got TM (also combined with GBS) I read about her condition and tried to get myself, my family, and especially her prepared for the worst case scenario. We have been so blessed that she is able to independently take care of herself, and pretty has, since she started walking again. Now that I am reading up on it again, I am really concerned. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
