Have yiou tried gabapentin; Why are you taking 8 10
other meds. I am not an
md but you should certainly check with your md. re side
effects. Why do you
want to try lyrica? gabapentin workes the same way as
lyrica with no side
effects. to me and this is my personal opinion the less
drugs you take the
better it is.

Subject: [TMIC] TMA Newsletter

Hi all,

I felt so compelled to write after reading the first few
pages of the newsletter. Normally when the newsletter arrives, it sits on my
desk for a bit and then I slowly read through it and it takes quite a while for
me to finish it. This time, I set it on the desk and this morning I decided to
start reading and I couldn’t put it down.

The story and the letters were so inspiring.

This TM affliction affects all of us in totally different
ways, yet there are so many inspiring stories that we can all learn so much
from. To imagine that a gentleman in prison was able to love and nurture an
animal and receive so much of a loving, rewarding experience blows my mind! For
Pauline to have found such a perfect match for her, is totally unbelievable!
These people have come together and learned and grown so much from this
experience, it makes me tear up just thinking about it all. I do wish I were
better with the written word and could put all my thoughts and feelings down on
paper like they all did.

For anyone out there that is on the “fence”
about going to the upcoming symposium, go! It is a life changing experience and
you will meet some of the most awesome people.

For Pauline and Sandy, the picture of Pauline and Kazu, they
look so great together, it is one of those “meant to be” moments in
my life. Thank you so much for sharing this with all of us.

Lori

7 years ago today, i woke up & couldn't move my legs. later that night, in the
ER, everything changed; for the worse. my bladder shut down (i felt like i
really had to pee, although i couldn't go, so a catheter was inserted & the
most terrible-colored liquid came out that i have ever seen), i stopped
breathing, so i was put on a breathing machine, my whole upper body basically
stopped working. at the time i was a C-4. throughout my 3-4 week stay at the
hospital i gradually made it up to a C-6 level, which is where i am today.
after i left the hospital, i went to the rehabilitation hospital of indiana
(RHI) i was here for 3 months & then i went home. from september of 01' (when i
came home) to december of 02' i was hospitalized no less than 18 times for
UTI's (urinary tract infections) that had progressed into kidney infections.
these were literally the sickest days of my life (hopefully forever). i'm
talking fevers of 105 & hallucinating! then i had a tendon transfer, to give me
a better grip, then a muscle transfer, to give me a tricept and finally a
iliostomy. after my iliostomy i have not been back to the hospital. throughout
all of this i managed to go back to school & get my B.S. in Psychology. i
graduated in December of 06'. i am now 27 & am going back to school to get my
masters in education. so, hopefully in 2 years, i will be making a difference
in the lives of kids. i & the rest of y'all can bring the most most important
experience to the table in everything we do: LIFE EXPERIENCE. thank you very
much-

bobby

Re: [TMIC] Three-Year Mark
Thanks for
sharing, Naomi.
My third year
anniversary is
in November. I
am at long
last home in
my house again,
but it has
been so hard
(i'm in a
wheelchair)
as
the things for
independence-
egress,
transportation and
showering are
not here
or weren't
installed correctly.
doing this on
my own is hard
and yes, the
lack and loss of
friends is
painful. Yet I
have hope,
hope for a cure
for
us.

that all be
well,
Akua

made while 'living' with tm!! How lucky the students whose lives you will
touch... they'll learn so much than those in other classes, because they'll
see what a positive attitude and drive can accomplish!
Power to you!! janh
