Jude, Yes, I was told my TM was caused by a virus, but I have never had a cold sore in my life. I have had Mono and Rheumatic Fever. The only thing I know that the three of these have in common is the Epstein-Barr virus._Epstein-Barr Virus_ (http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/diseases/ebv.htm) I had flulike symptoms, three days prior to the onset of my TM, and was paralyzed from the neck down in a matter of 20 minutes. My condition has not improved a whole lot since that day. I'm glad to see that you are at home and doing better. I wish you well.
