Just a little correction: the banding feeling is called "MS Hug” or
"Girdle-Band Sensation"
I have L'Hermitte's sign and it "describes electrical buzzing
sensations in the limbs and body brought on by movement of the neck.
These sensations are known as paraesthesia and include tingling,
buzzing, electrical shocks, partial numbness and sharp pains.
L'Hermitte's is most often triggered by lowering the head so that the
chin touches the chest. The sensations usually only last for a second
or two. It has been called the "barber shop" symptom because it is
often evoked when the hairdresser asks you to lower your head when he
or she shaves the back of your neck."
I have a continuous electrical buzz 24/7 and then the extra shock
when I tip my head down. I do feel like an outsider at times because
I never lost mobility, bowel and bladder control, didn't feel like I
needed the emergency room at any time, I just got this maddening
sensation almost 2 years ago and they found swelling and a lesion at
C4-C5 and it has never improved.
Lyrica and Cymbalta help and Amantadine keeps me awake. I found this
combination because of all your help.... so thanks Folks!!!!!!

That band is called L'Hermitte's and one of my doctors told me it's
where the "break"

trying to find a connection...
I think that is an over-simplified explanation so I'd
comprehend........I had it so bad
that at times I thought I wouldn't be able to breathe......I
thought it might be the bra-
God getting even with me for hating bras!! It finally 'went away'
but returns when I've overdone or have let myself get too tired. It
no longer is as strong as in the beginning
so just know that time will help!

Jeanne, when I was the hospital I had a band around my waist like
a steel band. After some time out of the hospital and for
many years it has been a band of pain. No medication relieved it.
It was especially bad when i laid on my back.

It is pretty horrible, isn't it, Ken? This is the first real
relief I've gotten from it since the onset. Just don't give
up...we can't...j
