Sally, You are absolutely right! The bladder and bowels cah be affected in several ways. I have a spastic flaccid bladder. My bladder slowly fills till it contains almost a litre of urine, then, all of a sudden, urinate again, and again, and again. I have learned that by staying by the toilet after the first "void" and waiting, I can urinate some more- visualization helps. A cystometrogram helps to demonstrate and document the extent of the problem. A Urologist usually performs this exam in the radiology department. I was catheterized, then had various monitoring devises affixed to the lower end of my body and plugged into a computer. No pain, but embarassement a plenty. hope that helps F
