My daughter was inflicted with TM at the age of 11. We have definitely
found out who are true friends are. It was a great lesson learned for
her. She did have some hurt feelings but she soon realized that the
friends that stuck around were worth having around. Those who no longer
wanted to be around weren't true friends to start with.

If I can just brag for a moment, which I VERY rarely do; I wanted to let
you know that my daughter is back in an outpatient therapy facility 3
days a week for the summer. She has improved more in the 4 weeks that
she has been going there than they anticipated for the entire summer.
She walked 3367 steps with a cane and no braces yesterday!!!!! The
therapy facility has told her that the KFO and AFO were hindering her
progress. She no longer wears them to therapy and I am meeting with
another brace facility tomorrow, during her session, to discuss just an
orthotic in her right shoe and a brace on her left leg from mid shin and
down. She currently has a full leg brace on her left leg and a brace on
her right leg from the shin down.

Before TM hit me I was very athletic and many of our friends were the
ones I played ball with. Once TM hit me I lost everyone of these
friends...but that being said...I never lost any of my true old friends!

I have another question that has been rolling around in my head.

Have any of you lost/gained friendships after developing TM/MS? Are
some maybe solicitious about giving you a call periodi-cally, but you
don't really see much of them? Or, are some of your friends from
before TM becoming even better and closer

friends. I am talking about emotional support, visits, outings, etc.
I am wondering how many have stuck with you or

traveled on after the initial onset and de-hospitalization period.
Maybe it has stayed the same.
