Try prunes vs juice or raisins. Try apple juice. I can't do caffeine anymore, but coffee used to help. I am a nonmeateater--- mostly veg, always whole grain, but as i am paralyzed and in a wheelchair, everything is slower than ever. I am also lactose intolerant. So my go to solution is Osoy-- a soy yoghurt
But were i not lactose intolerant, yogurt would be the ticket. Probiotics are available in pill form-- I haven't used them, but they may help. Akua --
