The pros and cons of exercise have long been debated on this list and I very
rarely enter into any of it because I just seem to march (no, not literally) to
a very different drummer.

I decided from my first moments in hospital that I wouldn't spend my life on
doctors' appointments of any kind, including physio. I pretty much have looked
after myself with the help of this marvellous group. Yes, I do go to the
doctor, about every two months to get prescriptions filled.

While I was in hospital, the physios there, who I believe had had no experience
of tm, told me to walk, just walk, as much and as often as I could. I did that
to the point of exhaustion....I know, in the early days that doesn't take much.
Since I'm lucky enough to be one of the walking wounded, walking is what I
need to keep doing, so I do. I don't do any exercise because I need my energy
to just live as normal a life as possible. Normal of course being normal in a
tm sense.

The point of this little rant is that I have been doing something that I would
have never thought possible in the early days. I've been actually making a
swale on our farm. For those of you on facebook, I have posted photos and you
will find them in the album "Gilly the Excavator".

I hope that it will give encouragement to many and especially our newer members.
