To create Corning ParaTransit Services to provide affordable,
origin-to-destination, on-demand, lift-equipped transportation to
disabled and mobility-challenged Corning-area residents, 18 hours a
day, seven days a week, 360 days a year throughout the Corning-Elmira
area and ultimately Steuben County.
Corning ParaTransit will enable the mobility-challenged, to work,
shop, and attend events by offering extended hour (8 a.m. to 8 p.m.)
origin-to-destination transportation to convey this population in the
Corning area, supporting dignity, self-determination,
Independence and equality for the disabled. As there is no such
service even one paratransit vehicle will radically improve the
environment for the many disabled
stuck at home.
The money will enable me to launch CPS, get a vehicle and a driver to service
the disabled in my community. The website will serve as a clearing
house for disability services information and as a place to schedule
rides.
