Undiluted honey does not mildew, rot, or otherwise spoil, so it has something 
protecting it. [It does eventually thicken and crystalize.]  When our goslings 
acquired an eye infection, Betty would put a drop of honey on the infection, 
which always went away. One might infer an anti-microbial  property of honey.
