I wholeheartedly agree with BobbyJim. When I went back to work after TM, I had
to come back in a different capacity as I was an executive assistant and could
no longer do that job, but my boss was happy to have me, in whatever condition
I was in. She "valued" ME! She knew I'd give her 110% of what I could give.
Prior to that I had always given her all I could, was always a quality employee
for her and she respected me. She let me work whatever hours I physically
could work.

When my hours got less and less and I finally had to face that I could no
longer hang in there, I went into her office and told her I needed to stop
working. She told me that she knew it, but was just waiting for "ME" to make
the decision. She was paying me until I made the decision, who does that?

She was able to do this because I was working in an office environment though.
There's a big difference in this, depending upon the environment you are
working. I'd be in a meeting and not be able to get my words. It was so
embarrassing sometimes. It took me 5x as long as it used to to get anything
done in order to make sure it was right, and if I stopped part way, I'd take so
long to get back up to speed, it was horrible. I was shocked she kept me.

Nowadayze, good employees, whether healthy or gimp, are very hard to find.
I see this where I work part-time, where a majority of the grunts (as I call
them) are minimalists, that is, they do the minimal-est amount of work to just
get by and collect a paycheck.

Learned employers treasure a good worker. Bask on it, John.

John,
Why are you questioning it? You must be a great guy for your boss to want to
keep you on the job.Now call SS and see what you can do.

what a wonderful day.

went to work(against my better judgment),took one load of coal to the place
where it is loaded onto a train and had to just stop after that.

superintendant told me to go home and call the social security office.

I asked him why they put up with me missing so much work,he said as long as it
takes for me to get what i need because i deserved it?

said i was a good guy?
