I am most annoyed when people tell me how i should advocate for myself.
One can only ask for what one knows to ask for.
I knew I needed a blood test and insisted on it last spring from which
the doctor told me that i was anemic, and Vitamind D deficient.
Thanks doc, for bothering to find that out yourself.
I shared how I finally met someone who cared on iota -- a
physiatrist who ordered 3 tests, of which i only got two because the
hospital messed
up-- bone density and an ultrasound.
& who said that being in the chair for years now (sob) may have attendant
deficits.
The test I missed is pulmonary function.
Sadly this is true. Yesterday I was at my GP who asked me who ordered
these tests.
I didn't answer-- she could see who did what she should or could have
done and didn't do--
but it was she i had to come to, to get the results.
I have osteopenia and (maybe) a fatty liver. For the o. she
prescribed Fosomax. For the liver she's sending me to a GI guy,
because she said nothing in my blood work nor my
great cholesterol indicate that I have a fatty liver and with none of
the symptoms, there's
nothing she could prescribe to treat it. Kind of what i thought--
this is year 38 without
meat, soda, fast food, and year 18 without pizza, cheese, ice cream (
because of lactose intolerance).
So what's a woman to do?
