Re: [TMIC] OT: the Garbage StoryIt's the same way in San Francisco. Total
recycling, going back many years.
The last time I visited, May 2004, most dwellings had 4 receptacles for the
disposal of:
glass and metals in one can, papers in another, yard waste in a third one, and
everything else in number 4. Way to go, EssEff........!!!

Now, the town that I used to live in had it's own municipal garbage company
and did it this way which was great. They gave us different colored bins and
we sorted our items. They had a separate truck and it had compartments. The
money collected from the recycling was used to offset our garbage bills, which
were lower than other towns in our area, and it wasn't in our taxes either. It
was great, but you get what you get where you live. Sometimes you can't fight
city hall.

You can ALWAYS fight city hall. ALWAYS. Change is made by those who fought
for our consciousness, our evolution. Now winning is another matter.

And as our environment erodes and quality of life diminishes, I don't want
to be part of the waste and erosion. I don't want to die without being able to
say I TRIED AND TRIED AND TRIED.
