        Hello Family & Friends,

I haven’t sent out an update to this group since the end of March.
John and I have been enjoying the comfort of home for 2 months. Except for
c-diff that he got from taking antibiotics everything was going relatively
smoothly until the beginning of May when John first started to complain of not
feeling well…he said that he felt BLAH with no specific pain or achiness
anywhere but tired and blah. It started to even effect his physical therapy to
the point that the physical therapist told us that he couldn’t continue to come
out to our home with no progress being made so his last day would be this
coming Friday. I called the oncologist to see if it was related to his last
“mini chemo” treatment but the PA didn’t think it would make him feel like
that. So blood was taken with no indication of anything in the blood. Next up
was an MRI to see if the lymphoma was active again….but last Friday the MRI
test failed because John was not sedated enough and he couldn’t continue with
the MRI – he pushed the panic button and the test ended. We were waiting to
contact the oncologist (Dr. Henry) on Tuesday because of the holiday weekend to
let him know that the MRI was incomplete. However, after dinner on Monday
night John said that his lower abdomen was feeling “full” and went to bed early
but couldn’t sleep all night because of that feeling in his lower belly.
Tuesday morning he threw up. Luckily the visiting nurse came shortly after he
threw up and she suggested taking John to Pennsylvania Hospital ’s
emergency….which we did. After a Cat Scan it was discovered that John has an
infected Gaul bladder and is now scheduled for surgery tomorrow afternoon at
12:30PM. They are going to do the surgery via laparoscope. He hasn’t eaten
since Monday night and will not be able to eat until after the surgery on
Friday. Due to the starvation mode he is in right now, I am beginning to get
scared that his appetite will be such that when he comes home he will be eating
me out of house and home….LOL. All kidding aside…please pray for his speedy
recovery.

        Love to all of you

        Emily/Mom
