Lost the use of everything from shoulder blades to toes. Spent 9 weeks in the
hospital, much of it with physical therapy mixed with blood, sweat, and tears.
Then after coming home, more therapy
and exercising, such as it was. It has been 5 years now and I walk with a
cane when out of the house, inside I walk alone most of the time. I know I
look a little odd at times walking, but I am doing it.
Don’t beat yourself up over not being able to do as well as someone else at
recuperating. We are all different and will improve at our own rates.
The important thing is to never give up on trying
to improve. You can’t go to a physical therapist to exercise and do nothing
at home. Keep pushing – and that is what we just have to keep doing.
Remember, there is a little luck involved too.
We may all hit a point where improvement stops - we just don’t know where
that will be. Keep trying.

Subject: [TMIC] Extent of your TM? Pins and Needles

>From the discussion of Pins and Needles it seems that most of you are able to
>get around and have some use of your legs. I have pins and needles from my
>feet to my belly and no use of my legs at all. And they weigh a ton. Been
>like this since day one. Did any of you lose the use of your legs and then
>get them back? If so, how long did it take and how did you do it?
