Nu stiu pe mysql anume, eu am vazut doar Squoia [1] in production insa
este Java-centric.

Personal insa prefer sa elimin oricand codul meu daca e ceva serios
deja existent (pentru ca nu-mi place sa fac mentenanta mai mult decat
e nevoie). Asa ca intre un perl dubios si un pachet oficial Fedora, as
merge pe pachetul de pe Fedora. Desigur ca cel mai bine e sa vezi daca
poate sa faca tot ce-ti trebui tie, il arunci intr-un load and stress
si vezi daca iese cu bine.
