~Ok, y'all, listen up.
I've actually been following how this whole thing got started and where it
went and there is a very simple solution-- has to do with how we
communicate. First, it's ok to voice an
opinion. The Rules here say no bashing and flaming, but Person A saying "I
don't like how this or that looks" is NOT bashing ir flaming. It's voicing
an opinion. Person B can disagree with person
A by saying, "I don't agree with you. I like how that
looks." No ones' feelings get hurt...two
people have freely expressed differing opinions about a
THING. Where it goes south is if Person B
decides to take a jab at Person A by adding a personal attack. "I don't
agree with your opinion and I think you suck for having that opinion." So
Person B comes back with "Yeah, well you suck for saying I suck", and now
we are reduced to throwing sand at each other in the sand
box. So bottom line, when you state an
opinion, just state your opinion and leave ther personal attacks out of
it--even the "subtle" ones cuz those are pretty
transparent.... <ahem>
Some people seem to
get very threatened when they hear people say stuff they don't agree with.
Well, the truth is, not everyone is gonna agree with you. And that doesn't
make you any smarter (or dumber!) It just means you have two different
opinions. Live and let live....
