LOL!  That was a cute e-card, GW!  Thanks!

Okay, my Thanksgiving was nice in the early part of the day with Mom's side of the family.  We all went down to Mission Beach to eat with what we've dubbed the Beach Crew, or my uncle's family whom lives right by the ocean.  I brought fixings for a green bean casserole dish, and got a Harvest pie from Coco's.  Not too many people ate it but it's my favorite holiday pie!  There was quite a lot of food (minus mashed potatoes!!  Aaah!) and it was all very delicious.  We took a long walk along the boardwalk to take that stuffed feeling out of our bodies.  Very breezy, nice day.

Then, around 3pm, me, Christine, our cousin, Josh, his wife Kat, and their son, Tristan, all got in their car and drove down to my great aunt and uncle's house in Bonita to visit them and other family members on Dad's side.  I figured since Kat and Tristan hadn't met Dad yet, this would be the perfect opportunity to stop by and say a quick hello.  Well, I already knew it was going to be a little uncomfortable for my sister and I because the last time we saw our great aunt and uncle was in December of 1997 when they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.  Some of the other family members from that event were there, too, along with some additional people...such as our new baby cousins!

Um, it's too much detail to get into but by the time I got home, I burst into tears.  I guess the visit was also emotional for me.  Plus, I hadn't seen my dad since last December so when I went out to the backyard to find some man with a full set of gray hair, I didn't handle it very well.  So, I'd have to say my Thanksgiving was both nice and...a little upsetting.  I've come to realize that not only do divorced parents break up, so do the families.  And for me, it's been very hard to deal with.  :(
