Db2:
...and the ignorance this list is capable of showing i so
confusing anymore.. ...Yeah,you idiots that tell me 'Oh ,Dave you are
hard to understand.. OH Dave.. you are some mentally crippled person we
don't know how to relate to so it's easier to pretend you don't
exsist....Sorry Dave..Nin ja Turtles are more important that people..
~Like I said earlier in a private email -- I'm so sorry you are having to
go through this. I know you have lost a lot of important people in your
life. And I know that in the face of life- and- death Real Stuff, a lot of
what we all jabber about on the lists sounds trivial, inconsequential and
superficial. And I understand how that can make someone angry if they're
in the midst of a crisis. Sort of like, "Can anyone even freakin' HEAR
ME???!!!"
And the truth is, probably not everyone
can....
I tend to think that most of what we talk
about on the lists is just *fun*; funny, entertaining, and light. We also
talk about some real stuff-- values and principles, as it relates to
pop culture, or characters, or our own lives, and we talk about
self-expression and creativity-- our own and the creative "pros" out
there. We also talk about nitty gritty real life stuff, too. The
truth is, these lists run the gamut, just like real life. Some people feel
more comfortable with one area than the others, and that's ok.
Dave, I know you've said before that some
people probably delete your mssgs, ignore you, tell you that you scare
them or they don't understand you, and I know that's true. Not everyone
can follow you, or would even want to if they could, to some of the places
you go. But that's ok. It's ok for people to choose to stay in their
comfort zone-- even *wise* - to do so.
I'm guessing that there are a lot of people who wish
they did know what to say to *anyone* who is in pain, in a dark place, or
scared. Sometimes we just don't know. Hell, I'm not even sure if *I'm*
saying the "right" thing most of the time, but I'm willing to risk
sounding like an ass because for me, a little well -intentioned braying is
better than stoney silence.
So here it is-- we're all miles apart , a group
of odd friends brought together through an odd affection for some odd
fictional characters. We have a lot more in common I think, than even we
realize. And even if we don't all *understand*, if we hang together, for
ourselves, for each other, for this business of being human that we *all*
share, we can get through this dark night, any dark night, and the morning
will come.

"We ourselves shall be
loved for a while and forgotten. But the love will have been enough;
all those impulses of love return to the love that made them. Even
memory is not necessary for love. There is a land of the living and a land
of the dead, and the bridge is love. The only survival, the only
meaning."
