~So somehow I found myself poking around
Netscape's babynamer (no, I am NOT pregnant!!) pages and I discovered
this:
LEONARD, LEONARDO. Another
lion-related name, Leonard comes from the German meaning lionhearted, and
has been out of fashion for several decades, even though one of several
St. Leonards is the patron saint of childbirth. It is perhaps more famous
for those who dropped the name when they entered show business than for
those who kept it: Former Leonards include Roy Rogers, Tony Randall, and
Buddy Hackett. Much more au courant these days is Leonardo, partly because
of the versatile young actor Leonardo di Caprio, and partly, we're afraid,
because Leonardo is one of the Renaissance artist-inspired names of a
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.
~GW...what are they "afraid" of?
