Lord Krang:
>>I'm VERY pissed right now!<<

With very good reason...

>>I taped my local Fox affiliate (WFLD) here in the Chicagoland area, from 9:30-10,
>because that channel and time were listed on the Fox Kids web site. Well, guess what?
>I powered up the VCR just now and lo and behold I got an infomercial! I couldn't
>believe it, so I went to the WFLD web site and looked at their listing and found out
>they carry NONE of the Fox morning kids shows, just paid advertising! How lame is
>that?!<<

Very lame... the problem with local broadcasting channels... especially ones like FOX
and UPN, is that they can air whatever they feel like.

>>Upon further investigation, I found out that Fox Box programming is carried by the
>local UPN affiliate, which means that I can get the show here in Chicago.
>Unfortunately, it gets TERRIBLE reception here at school so I will have to try to
>tape it at home and pray my parents don't turn on the VCR (since it needs to be
>powered off to do timed programming). Plus I missed the first show! >:-O<<

I've heard now from several people that their local FOX affiliate is also linked with
UPN. Fortunately or unfortunately... however you want to look at it, we have NO LOCAL
FOX OR UPN ... Both affiliates were based in Mexican border cities. During they day,
they would have American FOX or UPN broadcasting, and at night it was subtitled
Mexican programming or Mexican infomercials.

But, then both stations lost their leases and decided not to renew. Well, FOX was
basically kicked out because another Mexican network wanted into that station.
However, if you have basic, extended basic, or digital cable with Time Warner here in
the Rio Grande Valley, the old XHFOX channel 6 is now a national version of FOX. Which
means, no local call numbers, no local commercials, no local interruptions, and no
news interruptions.

This means, they broadcast the FOXBOX uninterrupted... the only downside? I have to
spend every Friday night at my mom's house, since I don't have cable.

>>Well, if any of you have or find a good quality version of the first episode online,
>LMK.<<

I bought a new hi-fi vcr to record the new show with. The recording came out close to
Stereo TV quality, and that's on Extended Play mode. So I'm pretty happy. At the end
of the first season, I will transfer the tapes to my comp and output to DVD.... well
at least I plan to.

Karai:
>>I really like the new show. Have to say I do have one little complaint about
the episode. It seemed a little fast-paced for a half-hour cartoon. I mean,
they were attacked by three major players all in the same episode and all one
right after the other.<<

Well, if that really bugs ya, try watching the Stargate Infinity cartoon... I'm a big
fan of SG1 and figured that the new toon would be a cool spin-off. But after I saw it,
I was unimpressed. The MAJOR CONFLICT/CLIMAX scenes just don't happen... I dunno if
they were cut out for time or they just didn't think to put them in there.

So comparing TMNT to that... well, I'd have to say TMNT is a masterpiece. Hell, I'll
say that anyway. ;)

-Mikey QM, still LOL about the Kevin/Peter cameo and Mikey's humor....
