I agree, the default should go back to the smallest.  There is a lot
surprise involved with manual or largest.

Also, when the window is larger than the client:

   - There is nothing visual showing the window is larger than the current
   client.
   - The commit message recommends avoiding it on slower
   connections/machines.

As users learn about the new feature, they can decide if they want to use
it.
