I have created the first tmux 3.0 release candidate:

As always please test and report any issues on GitHub, to the tmux
mailing list or to me directly. Feature requests for the following or
later releases are also welcome.
This release will include a rewritten and extended configuration parser
(it now requires yacc or bison and there are a couple of minor
incompatibilities - see the CHANGES file), as well as new features (such
as menus), some improvements to existing features and fixes for a number
of bugs in the last release.
The 2.9 release had a few issues with OS X and iTerm2. I'm not able to
test with either of these so I encourage iTerm2 users who use tmux
integration to test this release candidate and report any issues.
I am currently thinking of releasing 3.0 around the end of July.
